Our podi has a shelf life of 6 months from manufacture in a cool, dry place. Refrigerate after opening to extend freshness.
Thalippu Vadagam is a sun-dried seasoning ball made from onion, spices, and lentils. Crumble a piece into hot oil to temper sambar, kuzhambu, rasam, or rice before serving — it's the traditional Tirunelveli way to add flavour to South Indian cooking.
Yes — all our vadagam, podi, and vadam products are 100% vegetarian and vegan, made only from vegetables, lentils, and spices, with no dairy, egg, or animal-derived ingredients.
Hommix products are handmade in small batches in Tirunelveli using traditional sun-drying methods, with no preservatives, artificial colours, or shortcuts. Most commercial vadagam is machine-dried and mass-produced with preservatives added for a longer shelf life.
Idli Podi is a dry spice powder eaten with idli, dosa, or rice, mixed with oil or ghee. Vadagam is a dried, ball-shaped seasoning made from onion or vegetables and lentils, used for tempering (thalippu) curries and gravies — different preparation, different use.
